Samsung Exynos 2100 vs Snapdragon 888 : Result and Specs

The Exynos 2100 was recently unveiled by the company which is a flagship processor, Samsung has launched its new S21 series based on this chipset which is equipped with its global version, However, in China and the USA the S21 series is powered by Snapdragon 888 SoC. both are 5nm chipsets, which will be seen in the best smartphone of the year 2021.

Both the Exynos 2100 and Snapdragon 888 also feature ARM CPU cores in the same 1+3+4 arrangement and have built-in 5G modem. both of them perform better than their predecessor, as well as they will reduce battery consumption. you can see the differences between these processors in the comparison table below.

The Snapdragon 888 Chipset has one Kryo 680 Prime (Cortex-X1) core clocked at up to 2.84GHz, three Kryo 680 Gold (Cortex-A78) high-performance cores clocked at 2.42GHz, and four Kryo 680 Silver (Cortex-A55) cores clocked at 1.8GHz.
likewise, the Exynos 2100 chipset includes a single Cortex-X1 core clocked at 2.9GHz, 3 Cortex-A78 cores, and 4 Cortex-A55 cores. But while the Snapdragon 888 has an Adreno 660 graphics chip, the Samsung’s Exynos SoC is paired with Mali-G78 GPU.

both chipset offers 5nm technology and also support LPDDR5 RAM, their ISP (image signal processor) camera resolution of up to 200MP.

In the comparison table above, there is no significant difference between the two chipsets, but in real life there may be some difference in the figure. The best option to illustrate this can be done by comparing Samsung’s s21 Ultra to the Exynos and Snapdragon models. in result, the Snapdragon 888 model of the Galaxy S21 Ultra gets 701672 points on the AnTuTu score, while the Exynos model gets the 644316 points. however, if you compare the GPU term, then here also Snapdragon has more points in it.

even though the difference between both processors are very slender, but Samsung has filled this gap much more than before and has also proved its ability to make good chips. according to the latest leaks and rumors, to make it even better, Samsung is working with AMD (a leading desktop CPU manufacture) to achieve optimum results in the future.

Exynos 2200 is a 4nm Smartphone Chipset for Upcoming flagship

After a lot of speculation, Samsung has officially announced its much talked about Exynos 2200 chipset through an event in China. It is the successor to last year’s Exynos 980 and the 2200 chipset has a slightly higher position than the exynos 980 in terms of performance as it can see some notable gains in features compared to the 980 processor. It should be remembered that this is a “premium” SoC, which means that it is not a fully flagship SoC, although it is largely a middle-class and flagship category, fitting itself in between these two categories.

The Exynos 2200 is built using Samsung 4nm LPE process, so it is highly power-efficient. This mobile chipset is defined by having a new 1+3+4 CPU configuration, full 5G connectivity integrated and reasonably large GPU. it uses four ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores, all these cores are clocked at 2.0GHz and handle light tasks, There are four Cortex-A78 CPU cores for performance tasks and one of those cores is run on 2.8GHz, while remaining three Cortex-A78 cores are runs on 2.6GHz.

While focusing on the GPU, the new SoC also features the Mali-G78 MP10 GPU, we are seeing a fairly good improvement compared to the Exynos 980 as Samsung is now not only incorporating the new Mali-G78 architecture, but also doubling deployment of the core. it gives almost the same performance as the Exynos 990 that was added to Samsung’s Note 20 Ultra. The processor’s support for refresh rates of up to 144Hz in Full HD+ or QHD+ displays with a 90Hz refresh rate.

The camera ISP (image signal processor) capabilities have been improved, supporting for resolutions of up to 200MP (single camera sensor), and dual-sensor operation up to 32MP + 32MP, it also have the ability to capture up to 4K 60fps and HDR10+ video recording.

The Exynos 2200 SoC is supports LPDDR5 and UFS v3.1 Memory chips. The integrated NPU inside the Exynos 2200 make it capable of running up to 5.7 TOPS. Take a look at other features of this SoC, this includes Bluetooth 5.2, dual-band Wifi 6, GPS and USB Type-C port.

It has also been announced by Samsung that this chipset will be used for the first time in vivo flagship smartphone which is likely to be launched by the end of this year. whenever a new update or smartphone release with exynos 2200 SoC, then we will provide a full specification, price, and more.

Exynos 1000 will outperform Snapdragon 875 chipset in performance

Samsung is working on its next SoC which will be the Exynos 1000 and according to the news this processor will also outperform Snapdragon’s 875 chipset in performance. It also means that the performance of the South Korean tech giant flagship will surpass the performance of all top-of-line handsets, which use Snapdragon 875 chipsets.

The reports so far were based on Geekbench results that were pulled from the database before we could confirm that they were allowable.

Samsung exynos 1000 specs, benchmark results

Now the result of Geekbench which should have the Samsung Galaxy S21 and the model number SM-G996B (likely the Euro version) was seen in a score of Geekbench 5 and the test has been done on android 11 version.

The smartphone is described as being an Exynos 2100 motherboard and has the following specific identifiers: ARM Implementer 65 Architecture 8 Version 1 Part 3396 Revision 0. In the benchmark test, you can see 8 cores are shown but how it will work is not clear.

According to leaked information, which is shared by a user on twitter, here only details about the number of cores present in Samsung’s Exynos and Qualcomm’s chip has been revealed, The user mentions that both the Exynos 1000 and snapdragon 875 chip will come with a 1 + 3 + 4 core configuration, Which means that it relies on one main core, three performance cores and four energy-saving cores. But here a big question arises that if both chipsets have the same characteristics then how will exynos outperform Snapdragon in performance?

The Exynos 1000 appears with a clock speed of 2.21 GHz and is packed with 8GB RAM, as the Samsung s21 will be in its initial state right now, then it will have additional RAM variants.

The Galaxy S21 scored 1038 in single-core test and 3060 in multi-core test. if compared to the Phone powered by Snapdragon 865+ SoC, it is not much, as the Samsung’s Note 20 Ultra 5G (Snapdragon 865+ variant) is about 960/3050 points in single/multi-core tests.

Another important point is that Samsung S21 is still a long time to be launched, and it is also on its development path due to which low score on Geekbench is relative, Maybe galaxy S21 can see some improvement in its score on its final stage.
